I never thought I would be blogging about such an amazing job opportunity, but after being a casualty of corporate layoffs in the last few weeks, I had to give it the "old college try". The purpose of this blog is to share some insight into the application process of the Island Caretaker position from the viewpoint of a highly motivated job applicant.
While I have never been to Hamilton Island or even to Australia, I’m excited to learn more about the culture, lifestyle and aquatic environment. As I indicated in my video, one of my most relevant experiences was my semester abroad via the School for Field Studies on Marine Mammal Biology & Conservation in Baja, Mexico. I also spent several summers in college on Nantucket sailing to the far corners of the island in my laser while trolling for bluefish with my golden retriever. Talk about a comical adventure. I have an MBA in marketing and entrepreneurship and am passionate about search engine marketing. I look forward to further leveraging this skillset if selected as the final candidate for the Island Caretaker position. But like most of you, I am frankly excited at the chance to get the Golden Ticket and spend some time on the aqua blue water.
